Since I have a 144hz monitor, v-sync is always set 1/3 of whatever the frame rate is. If it is higher, it will always do a refresh rate that is 1/3 of the set refresh rate. I would personally disable vsync and limit the fps at 60 (above 60 increases the games speed)įallout 4 does have v-sync enabled that matches to 60hz only if it is the native refresh rate of the display. Ill probably have to use that or use none.įallout 4 just has Vsync enabled as far as I am aware, which will cap it AT your refresh rate, why you have a cap at a third of your refresh rate, I have no idea. With Precision X though, it kinda has a frame limiter but the max that it can be set to is 120 fps. I tried to install Rivatuner without afterburner and it still won't run. It depends on the refresh rate of the monitor. Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the cap. Did you make sure to install Rivatuner with Precision? I'm pretty sure it's there somewhere, although I can't check myself as it messes up my CSGO.įallout has a locked frame cap. Rivatuner (the thing used to lock fps) can be used with Precision, although your fps goes down with your refresh rate which suggests that Afterburner isn't limiting it, something else is. I really only want afterburner so I can do an fps cap. I haven't found a way to limit fps with Precision X either. I probably will just go back to Precision X but I would like to play Fallout without it being 1/3rds of my monitors refresh rate (at 144hz I'm capped at 48 fps, 120hz at 40 fps, 60hz at 20 fps) and not have to try to pick locks at 600 fps. I did try to run it as an admin, but it still didn't work. Have you tried right clicking and running it as admin? I would honestly just reinstall Precision X, as you are familiar with it already anyway, they do the exact same things, remember to uninstall Afterburner though. Afterburner does show up in the icons try by default but it can be disabled I think. Thank you though.Īlso, Afterburner doesn't show up in the icons tray. I put my second monitor back to the right of my primary monitor and it still wouldn't show up. I currently use two monitors but I have re positioned them. Did you have two monitors running at one point? It could be displaying the windows on a monitor that doesn't exist, I had the same thing when I switched back to one monitor.
